Emmy® Award-winning Bang Zoom! Studios is continuing its Halloween-season rollout with Episode 9 of its cinematic horror audio anthology, The Strange Thing About…. Premiering on the 9th October, the new episode—titled “The Strange Thing About the Tavern”—stars Xolo Maridueña (Blue Beetle, Cobra Kai, Practical Magic 2) alongside Graham McTavish (House of the Dragon, The Hobbit, Outlander, Preacher).
Maridueña and McTavish join an elite voice ensemble across the series, including Michael Johnston (Obsession), James Cromwell (The Green Mile), Keith David (American Fiction), Jackie Tohn, Ayumi Ito, Johnny Yong Bosch, Zach Aguilar, Robb Daymond, Allegra Clark, and more.
In the tradition of classic horror anthologies, The Strange Thing About… immerses it’s listeners in standalone nightmares driven by cinematic sound design, original music scores, and twist-filled narratives designed for headphone listening.
Episode 9 follows an American student (Maridueña) seeking shelter from a freezing Irish fog inside a remote roadside tavern. Welcomed by a warm hearth and strange patrons, his night takes a dark turn as a grizzled cabbie (McTavish) shares an unsettling story that hints the tavern is far more dangerous than a simple pub.
