SYNOPSIS A group of social outcasts, stuck in weekend detention, find themselves confronted by their school’s legendary hauntings. REVIEW September’s issue of the Blumhouse produced horror-anthology series Into the Dark very much feels as if it began life purely as a concept, with that concept being that they wanted to turn The Breakfast Club into a slasher flick. Now, as concepts go, that’s really not a bad hook. Bring in a group of dysfunctional school archetypes, put them in a room together and drama is likely to ensue. Throw a crazed killer on the loose in the school’s ventilation system with…

And so it begins. The success of IT basically guaranteed that we were going to get an onslaught of killer clown movies, and with IT: Chapter Two incoming, we’d better get prepared. First up is Jack in the Box from Writer/Director Lawrence Fowler (Curse of the Witch’s Doll), as he pulls out the old children’s toy to cause some havoc. For just a teaser, the trailer doesn’t give away much, but I do appreciate the pretty cool-looking clown make up. No release date as of yet, but Jack in a Box stars Ethan Taylor, Robert Nairne, Lucy-Jane Quinlan, Philip Ridout…

It seems like The Breakfast Club is back in action with Hulu’s first trailer for their next holiday-themed horror movie, School Spirit. The new movie is the eleventh entry into their horror anthology series “Into the Dark” and follows the rather excellent last entry, Culture Shock. In classic Breakfast Club style, the new movie will follow a group of social outcasts as they complete weekend detention, except this time, there’s a guy stalking them in a pirate mask, and possibly some ghosts? It’s a basic slasher set up, but one that could be a lot of fun if they take…
