Luca Guadagnino in talks to direct ‘Lord of the Flies’ for WarnerBros.

WarnerBros. have owned the rights to William Golding’s classic novel, Lord of the Flies, for quite some time now, and it seems like the project is finally starting to take shape.
Variety is reporting today that Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name, Suspiria) is in talks to direct a new adaptation of the novel, this time focusing a lot more on the original source material.
“Guadagnino is in negotiations to direct,” the site notes. They add, “Guadagnino and his producing partner Marco Morabito are also in negotiations to produce. Known Universe, the production company founded by Lindsey Beer, Nicole Perlman and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, is negotiations to executive produce.”
The infamous novel has been tackled a couple of times before, but with no new interpretations since 1990, it seems like the perfect time to revisit the island that quickly turns children into savages!
