Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II #3 is published by BOOM! Studios, written by Ryan Parrott, illustrated by Dan Mora, coloured by Raúl Angulo and lettered by Ed Dukeshire.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II #3 is available 22nd February 2023 either directly from BOOM! Studios online or from your local comic book store, digital copies will be available to download from the usual content providers.

    Synopsis

It’s SHREDDER vs. RANGER X as the battle goes underway and Rita’s armies are a powerful match for our de-powered heroes!
Unlikely alliances and unlikely sanctuaries abound as the Rangers and Turtles, specifically Billy and Donatello, put their heads together and create a secret weapon.
But the problem is… it might change them in ways they can’t come back from!

    Review

In this issue the strange alliance continues as Shredder continues to assist the Turtles and Rangers as Rita Repulsa and Krang’s attack gets closer and closer, all becomes clear as the story unfolds as to the reasons for Shredder’s change of heart, a personal vengeance mission against Rita Repulsa and Krang. But first the threat of Krang’s forces are too real as they descend on Earth in their droves, but is this an immediate threat? or more of a distraction? Casey returns as Ranger X with his loyalty now known for the darker side age old friendships are torn apart Casey has alot of explaining to do as to why he chose to jump to the Repulsa/Krang side after all these years of battling good, you can’t help but question Casey’s intentions as he tries to get the Turtles on side, is this Casey being genuine? or is it an alaborate edition to his overall plan whatever that is?

To counter this attack the Rangers must try a different plan as their Morphin powers are no longer working so trying a different tactic will be the best plan and without giving away spoilers it’s probably the biggest event we’ve been waiting for.

Worringly Shredder has to return to Dimension X but needs the help of the Turtles, as much as the Turtles can work with him I personally feel that this could well be a road to untold dangers, one thing for sure is the next issue will be explosive.

As a big fan of both of these iconic series having the two come together again is incredibly exciting, put that with having one of my favourite writers as main writer Ryan Parrott you just know that this series will become epic. There are so many twists involved in this story with each event having the potential of changing the path of the iconic worlds forever.

The illustrations of the book are once again of the highest level around, the artistic team of Dan Mora on pencils and Raúl Angulo on colours combine to create a visual experience like no other with dark tones capturing the evil forces engulfing Earth and the contrasting bold colours highlighting the vibrancy of the super unit of the Turtles and MMPR making a well balanced visual experience.

    Verdict

One of the best comic series out so far this year, loving the United front and the expectation of what is coming is intensifying, this series is definitely gearing up for epic events to come.
