Vertigo Releasing has debuted the UK trailer for the upcoming film It’s Always the End of the World. The film, the directorial debut of writer/filmmaker George Earwicker, is set to release on digital platforms in the UK and Ireland on November 20, 2026.
The film follows Max and Charlotte’s trip to a cabin, however buried in the bushes Max finds an old trunk stuffed with documents, audio cassettes and VHS tapes. These strange items point towards a half century of murder, secrets and abuse – sending Max spiralling to uncover the mysteries of not only the trunk but Britain’s past and the nature of life itself.

An exploration of grief, depression and guilt; the film is a defiant statement about the importance of reckoning with the past, imagining a future and loving one another.
It’s Always the End of the World stars Jacob Mellers as Max and Roby Faye as Charlotte with Grant Masters in supporting as Jeremy Priestly. Produced by the independent production company The Sandbagos with Lucy Allen, Theo Beaumont, and Amer Hilal serving as executive producers on the film.
The film was shot for £8000, by a crew of seven, all of whom were under 25. It is a pure independent film – D.I.Y. British filmmaking at its finest: inventive, bold, personal and, crucially, with something to say.
It’s Always the End of the World will be available digitally on Amazon Prime Video & Apple TV.
