    Synopsis

With a new focus on their mission, The Scorched team decides to take on a threat they may just not survive…

    Review

An almost reformed Scorched are on the move as they prepare for probably the toughest fight they’ve ever come up against as Medieval prepares to face the darkest of shadows from his past, Viscerator is back. They need help and the one they need will probably need the most persuasion, Haunt prefers now to devout his life to the cloth as Father Kilgore and is happy to leave his darker alter ego well and truly buried.

The Scorched need him back as Haunt they need him for the fight with his brother’s black ops training much like Jessica Priest and having previously stood alongside Scorched he seems the best placed to join them permanently and take the fight to Viscerator and wipe it out for good.

As the journey descends into darkness Medieval isn’t the only person that has past shadows re emerge to once again confront them, the visitor for Jessica definitely isn’t in the mood for a catch up, as the darkness falls this is about to turn rapidly into a nightmare.

John Layman and Todd McFarlane have written a dark story that oozes the Spawn theme and fits right in at home within it’s multiverse. The Scorched reuniting again feels like they have unfinished business to attend to and alot of blood will be shed until they reach their goal and exact their revenge, The Scorched are gunning for Viscerator and although it won’t be an easy war it will definitely make for great reading.

I like Stephen Segovia’s style his unique artistic talents create a dark world that still has that unique vibrancy that comes through with each panel creating a visual explosion that will leave you breathless, the action panels are perfectly drawn and the detail is unrivaled as you feel the energy coming off the pages.

    Verdict

The Scorched can literally do no wrong for me lately, from the very first issue to know feels as fresh and vibrant and hopefully the story arc will continue to progress in this manner. The Scorched almost feels like it’s too big for comics and would fit perfect on the big screen – or even on the TV streaming services would definitely love to see it.
