If you have seen Avengers: Endgame (and who hasn’t?) then you may have lingering questions about how the story has impacted society. One scene in particular has caused fans to question the time travel nature of the Marvel epic.
Following the final battle Peter Parker returns to high school where he is reunited with Ned (Jacob Batalon). The question posed by this scene and the trailer for July’s Spider-Man: Far From Home is: how can ALL Peter’s friends still be in high school?
Whilst its understandable that they could all have turned to dust, it’s plausible to say that some who were left behind have now graduated and move on with life.
Endgame co-director Joe Russo discussed the impact with EW in a new interview.
“So…Ned disappeared as well,” Joe Russo confirmed in a recent interview. “That’s the two of them seeing each other for the first time after having disappeared.”
Whilst we know half the population was wiped out, “that doesn’t mean that everyone that they went to high school with didn’t disappear,” Joe continues. “There could be kids who are now much older than them and no longer in high school. But Ned and he both disappeared and are returning in that moment.”
It would certainly be interesting if Far From Home spends some time dealing with the aftermath of the five year time jump.

Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland and Anthony Mackie.
The film arrives in cinemas in April 25 in the UK and April 26 in North America.
