MARVEL’S AVENGERS delayed by four months

Some frustrating news for gamers today as Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that Marvel’s Avengers is being delayed. The game, originally set for a May 15 release, will no instead hit stores on September 4.

A statement from the studio reads:

In order to achieve that goal, we have made the difficult decision to move the release date of Marvel’s Avengers to September 4, 2020. “As fans ourselves, it’s an honor and a privilege to work with these legendary characters and we know what these Super Heroes mean to us and True Believers around the world. When we set out to bring you our vision for Marvel’s Avengers, we committed to delivering an original story-driven campaign, engaging co-op, and compelling content for years to come. To that end, we will spend this additional development time focusing on fine tuning and polishing the game to the high standards our fans expect and deserve.”The worldwide teams working on Marvel’s Avengers sincerely appreciate the support you’ve shown us. We thrive on your enthusiasm and feedback and we can’t wait to show you more.  We apologize for the delay. We’re confident it will be worth the wait.”

It seems that despite the frustration the delay has been made for the right reasons, to allow the studio to make sure the game is the absolute best it can be. In case you needed a reminder here’s a look at early footage from the game.

AVENGERS: ENDGAME coming to Disney+ on November 12

Disney+, the hotly anticipated new streaming platform from the House of Mouse, arrives in North America and several other territories next Tuesday. Whilst we wait for confirmation of a UK release date, it has been announced that Avengers: Endgame will be available to stream on the platform from launch day.

The news was announced in a tweet confirming that America, Canada and the Netherlands will have the movie from November 12, with Australia and New Zealand getting both the service and Avengers on November 19.

At the moment we’re still out in the cold here in the UK as Disney will only confirm a “Spring 2020” release for Disney+ in the UK. Stay tuned for more news on that one as it happens!
