The Hollywood Reporter is today reporting that after a $56.3m Friday at the domestic box office Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is on course for a $140m opening weekend. The film, directed by James Gunn, took an impressive $17m from Thursday night previews before heading in to a successful weekend. The films international box office total is currently sitting at $167m as of Thursday.
