Sad news for the Fox X-verse this morning as both X-Men: Dark Phoenix and New Mutants have move released dates.
Dark Phoenix was initially due for release in November of this year. There has been concern amongst fans that we had still yet to see a teaser trailer and now we have some understanding as to why. Although no reason has been given for the move we now understand the film will hit cinemas on February 14, 2019.
New Mutants has already been shifted back from April 2018 to February 2019. The film will now be released on August 2, 2019. Again no reason for the delay has been given by 20th Century Fox.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix is being directed by Simon Kinberg. James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender are confirmed to return to the roles of Charles Xavier, Mystique and Magneto respectively. Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Olivia Munnm Nicholas Hoult, Alexandra Shipp and Kodi Smit-McPhee will also return.
New Mutants stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Blu Hunt, Henry Zaga, and Alice Braga. The film is directed by Josh Boone from a screenplay by Boone and Knate Lee. Production credits go to Simon Kinberg, Lauren Schuler Donner and Karen Rosenfelt.
