Fans have been wondering when news on the fates of the DCTV slate would be announced. Well wait no longer as The CW has formally announced its first pickups for the 2018/19 TV season.
Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow and newest addition Black Lightning have all been renewed. The CW president Mark Pedowitz provided the following statement during his announcement this morning,
“As The CW expands to a six-night, Sunday through Friday schedule next season, we are proud to have such a deep bench of great returning series for 2018-19. By picking these 10 series up for next season, we have a terrific selection of programming to choose from when we set our fall schedule in May, with more still to come. And I’m especially happy that we’ll continue to work with the incredibly talented casts, producers, and writers who create the series our fans are so passionate about.”
This latest announcement takes Arrow in to its seventh season. The Flash will re-enter the speed force at season 5 whilst Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow will both be on their fourth seasons. Black Lightning goes in to its second season as a proven a hit with critics and is doing well internationally on Netflix.
Congratulations to all the casts and crews working behind-the-scenes on each of the shows!
