It was recently announced that Deadpool 2 will be getting the extended cut treatment on home video. Now star Ryan Reynolds has confirmed we will be seeing the “Super Duper Cut” a lot sooner than expected. In a tweet yesterday Reynolds confirmed the new cut will land on Blu-Ray on August 21. The digital edition of the film will arrive on August 7. Both dates are much sooner than we anticipated. Sad news from the comics industry over the weekend as Marvel legend Steve Ditko has passed away at the age of 90. Ditko is most famous as the co-creator of iconic characters such as Spider-Man and Doctor Strange. The writer/artist was found dead in his apartment a little over a week ago. Over the weekend multiple sources confirmed his sad passing. Ditko never married and leaves no surviving family. As an icon of the golden era of comics we all have a lot to thank him for. We all knew it was coming but now it’s confirmed. Over the weekend Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom broke the $1 billion barrier at the worldwide box office. Overall it is the thirty-fifth film to cross the milestone at the box office. It is also the third film of 2018 following Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther. Margot Robbie has been talking Birds of Prey to the press over the weekend. We knew the film had picked up a potential director in Cathy Yan. It’s a little over a month to go until Ant-Man and The Wasp arrives here in the UK. But in the meantime the film has just completed its first weekend at the North American box office. Heading in to the weekend predictions put the film anywhere from $70m-80m. Following a successful Thursday night preview gross of $11m those expectations were raised.
