After debuting in one of the smaller rooms at the convention Star Trek: Discovery descended on Hall H today. With a panel which could only be described a roaring success the cast and crew were on hand to promote the shows return. Sadly that return will not take place until 2019 but there’s plenty to tide us over in the meantime (more on that below). The writer director of both Guardians of the Galaxy movies will no longer be working on the third instalment. THR has today broken the news that Deadpool 2 star Zazie Beetz is in talks to join Todd Phillips’ Joker. Rumour has it the actress has yet to finalise a deal but if she does sign on she will be playing a single mother who catches the eye of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker. During his Spotlight of Geoff Johns panel today the veteran comic book writers announced he is finally returning to a story which began in the DC Rebirth special. Batman: Three Jokers will be a three-issue series which will focus on the plot thread surrounding Jokers origin. In the Rebirth special Johns posed the question about whether there had only been one Joker in the DC universe. It was revealed that there were as many as three Jokers in existence.
