Marvel’s cast of Guardians of the Galaxy has collectively released a statement in support of axed director James Gunn. Gunn was fired from his position at Marvel a little under two weeks ago following supposed revelations about inappropriate tweets. The director had apologised publicly for the tweets back in 2012 when he was hired for the first Guardians movie but was forced to do so again when a right wing American blogger brought his tweets back in to the public eye. Netflix debuted a short teaser for the second season of Iron Fist last week at San Diego Comic Con. Now the streaming service has dropped a much more telling trailer for Danny Rand’s second outing. The new trailer mixes a short sequence in the present day with a flashback to a bloody battle between Danny Rand and Davos as they battle for the right to face Shou-Lao the Undying. Though Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles doesn’t premiere its first season until September we’re already hearing some new about a second season. The network quietly announced that a full, 26 episode, second season will enter production later this year. The show had a huge presence at San Diego Comic Con this year with an interactive exhibit on the floor of the convention centre. Lucasfilm and partner Disney has officially announced the cast for Star Wars: Episode IX. The film is now officially in production with director J.J. Abrams back behind the camera. The shoot is expected to last several month and will bring Disney’s first Star Wars trilogy to a close. Following their world expanding graphic novel The Eventide they are dipping back in to the world with a brand new tale entitled Whistleblower.
