Though Wonder Woman 1984 isn’t in theatres for another 17 months Patty Jenkins already has an idea in mind for its sequel. In a new interview with Vanity Fair the director touched on the potential for a third film in the franchise.
“I have pretty clear plans for Wonder Woman 3,” the filmmaker recently confirmed. “Whether I [direct] it or not, I see how her arc should end in my incarnation of Wonder Woman. I have great passion for that.”
Could rounding out the trilogy bring Wonder Woman up to the moment we first meet her in Batman v Superman? Or could we see the present day adventures of the character bringing her up-to-date with Aquaman?
Gal Gadot returns in the role of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in Wonder Woman 1984. The film also stars Kristen Wiig in the role of the Super-Villain The Cheetah, as well as Pedro Pascal. And Chris Pine returns as Steve Trevor. The film is directed by Patty Jenkins.
Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Stephen Jones and Gal Gadot are producing the film. Rebecca Roven Oakley, Richard Suckle, Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and Walter Hamada are the executive producers.
Wonder Woman 1984 is set to hit cinemas on June 5, 2020.
