Doctor Who (BBC)

Following the conclusion of series 11 it was confirmed that Doctor Who would not be returning in 2019. The long-running series will instead be taking a break and will return early in 2020.

Although her future was never in doubt, Jodie Whittaker also confirmed that she would be returning to the title role for the new series.

Now it has been confirmed via the shows official social media channels that production has begun on the next series. A new photo featuring Whittaker alongside series regulars Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole announces that cameras are rolling on series 12.

“#DoctorWho is back in production” says the caption on the official Instagram post.

Doctor Who stars Jodie Whittaker as The Doctor, Mandip Gill as Yasmin Khan, Tosin Cole as Ryan Sinclair and Bradley Walsh as Graham O’Brien.
