Yesterday CBS made another casting announcement for ‘Star Trek: Discovery’.  Jason Isaacs (‘Harry Potter’) is joining the rapidly growing cast as Captain Lorca. Lorca will take charge of the USS Discovery which is the flagship of the series. Joining Isaacs is Mary Wiseman as Cadet Tilly, a Starfleet Academy Cadet in her final year who is  also assigned to the Discovery. A release date for the series is still yet to be determined. Last week director Zack Snyder celebrated his birthday by sharing some underwater footage of Aquaman. The footage from the editing bay on ‘Justice League’ gave fans their first look at actor Jason Momoa ‘underwater’. Many understood the footage to be a fully CG recreation of the actor. Others were intrigued to know how the film would pull off underwater sequences. Now Snyder has taken to social media again to discuss the process. The weekend numbers are in and ‘Logan’ is off to an impressive start. Studio estimates put the film at $65-$70M at the North American box office and around $237M worldwide. Well the numbers are in and 20th Century Fox will sleep easy tonight! First up the North America numbers. After a $33M, including $9.5M from Thursday previews, the film went on to gross $85.3M across the weekend. Saturday came in a $31.3M million taking only a short drop from Friday. Amazon.com has added pre-order details for the soundtrack to ‘Power Rangers’. The album is due for digital release on March 24th with a physical release following on April 7th. Most excitingly Amazon has included cover art, a track listing and unveiled who will providing the music! Artist Brian Tyler, known for his scores in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will be in charge of bringing ‘Power Rangers’ to the screen. Breaking news! Ra’s al Ghul is coming to ‘Gotham’! The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that ‘Star Trek Deep Space Nine’ and Game of Thrones’ star Alexander Siddig has been cast in the role. DC Comics fans will know the character was most recently portrayed by Matt Nable in ‘Arrow’ and ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’.
