CRUNCHYROLL Reduces Monthly Subscription Price in Nearly 100 Countries

Crunchyroll, the ultimate anime destination, announced that the cost of Crunchyroll Premium memberships is decreasing in nearly 100 international territories. Isn’t that fantastic news? We’ve entered an incredibly tough period. Post lockdown, the cost of living has increased and new streaming services have appeared left, right and centre. It’s not easy to find a perfect balance between the simple joys of watching new films and shows, and the task of being financially stable. However, Crunchyroll decision to decrease the price of its memberships is a great step forward.

“Earlier this year, we promised anime fans that we would provide more value in one subscription experience,” says Rahul Purini, President of Crunchyroll. “Since then, our team has expanded our catalogue with more subtitled and dubbed anime in more languages than ever before. Today, we’re excited to offer Crunchyroll Premium memberships for select regions at a new, lower price for both existing subscribers and new fans alike, as we continue to add more content to the service.”

The price decrease will create consistency across Crunchyroll memberships across channels, including web, mobile, and living room devices in each region. For a full list of affected countries and territories, fans can visit [https://got.cr/price-announce-en] to learn more. However, here are a couple of highlights:

    • In the United Kingdom, Mega Fan will change from 7.99 to 5.99 GBP
    • In Ireland, Mega Fan will change from 9.99 to 6.49 EUR

Crunchyroll currently offers the Fan and Mega Fan Premium subscriptions. The Crunchyroll Fan membership offers ad-free viewing and access to Crunchyroll’s library of anime dubs alongside access to Crunchyroll manga and simulcast series day and date with premiere in Japan. The Crunchyroll Mega Fan membership offers all the benefits of Crunchyroll Fan, alongside access to anime on the go with offline viewing and the ability to stream Crunchyroll concurrently across four different streams.

Crunchyroll has also expanded the dubbed anime for international anime fans, offering a slate of dubbed anime series in Arabic, Castilian, and Italian for the first time. These series will begin to premiere sometime this summer.

Make sure you check out what Crunchyroll has to offer. Each week it seems as though there is more anime being thrown at us. Unfortunately, there just isn’t enough time in the day to consume it all. But, with Crunchyroll now being a bit cheaper and available on 15 different platforms, streaming your favourite shows has just become easier. What are you watching at the moment? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
