Crunchyroll brought a massive slate of major announcements to New York Comic Con 2026, headlined by video game adaptations, premier trailers, and a sweeping multi-series co-production deal. Leading the showcase were high-profile looks at anime adaptations for FromSoftware’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and PlayStation Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima Legends, alongside an ambitious partnership adapting around 15 popular WEBTOON properties.
FromSoftware fans received their first look at footage from Sekiro: No Defeat, an eight-episode, fully hand-drawn anime series produced by KADOKAWA, Qzil.la, and ARCH. The world premiere trailer showcased the brutal combat and distinct aesthetic of the Shinobi epic, which is scheduled to stream exclusively on Crunchyroll beginning January 2027.
Following closely behind was an early work-in-progress look at Ghost of Tsushima Legends, developed in collaboration with PlayStation Productions and slated for release in 2028. Based on the supernatural, folklore-heavy cooperative multiplayer mode from Sucker Punch Productions’ hit game, the anime boasts a star-studded creative pedigree. Directed by Takanobu Mizuno, the production features series composition and scripts by Gen Urobuchi and Satoshi Maejima of NITRO PLUS, character designs by 2026 Emmy Award winner Takashi Okazaki, music by Keiji Inai, and sound direction by Yoshikazu Iwanami. The panel also confirmed Mayumi Saco and Shinya Fukumatsu among the Japanese voice cast for the HAYATE-produced series.
WEBTOON Co-Production Deal Unveiled
Crunchyroll also pulled back the curtain on an expansive co-production pact with HAYATE and LINE Digital Frontier Corporation, a subsidiary of WEBTOON Entertainment. Under the new agreement, the three entities will collaborate from early development to adapt around 15 select digital webcomics into animated series, with HAYATE spearheading development and production while Crunchyroll handles exclusive international streaming in select territories.
Three of the initiative’s biggest flagship titles were spotlighted during the presentation:
The fantasy drama The Remarried Empress received an official anime greenlight, debuting character art alongside a special promo trailer confirming its main production team and central cast. Action heavyweight Teenage Mercenary debuted its own dedicated promo trailer, while the acclaimed combat sports series The Boxer was officially announced for an anime adaptation accompanied by debut promo footage.
Beyond its flagship reveals, the panel packed in trailers and premiere windows for several anticipated upcoming projects:

EAT-MAN, a brand-new adaptation of the classic 1997 sci-fi action franchise, showcased its first look at mercenary explorer Bolt Crank, who possesses the uncanny ability to consume any metal or machine and recreate it fully functional from his hand. Acclaimed webcomic Here U Are debuted its world premiere trailer, highlighting the evolving campus romance between popular upperclassman Yang Yu and reserved freshman Huan Li.
Romantic comedy Everyone’s Darling Has a Secret confirmed a January 2027 broadcast window with a new trailer following elite student Hizashi Hiruno, whose test sheet blunder sends him to remedial classes alongside the girl of his dreams. Fantasy adaptation Magical Buffs: The Support Caster is Stronger Than He Realised!, produced by J.C. Staff with music by Yuki Hayashi, confirmed that global pop icon LiSA will sing the opening theme ahead of its broadcast next year.
Rounding out the panel were sneak peeks for Berserk of Gluttony Season 2, tracing Fate Graphite’s elevation to Holy Knight as he uncovers the world’s deepest conspiracies, and The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn’t a Guy at All, featuring the voice talents of Mariya Ise and Akari Kito under the direction of the Horimiya team.
