Some very exciting casting news coming from Variety today. The trade is reporting that The Boys and Star Trek: Lower Decks actor Jack Quaid has joined the cast of the upcoming Scream reboot.
According to the trade Quaid joins returning cast members Courteney Cox and David Arquette from the original franchise. There is no word yet on whether leading lady Neve Campbell will return as Sidney Prescott for the latest instalment.
The film is set to be directed by Ready or Not directors Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. Zodiac‘s James Vanderbilt and Castle Rock‘s Guy Busick have penned the screenplay.
Other new cast members to board the project are Melissa Barrera (Vida) and Jenna Ortega (Jane the Virgin).
Scream (also known as Scream 5) is currently set for release on January 14, 2022 from Paramount Pictures.
