As Game of Thrones was looking to wrap up its final season, HBO announced that it was developing a number of prequel series. The first of those is currently in production and is set to star Naomi Watts.
Now EW has released information on a potential second series which appears to be moving forwards.
George R.R. Martin and Colony co-creator Ryan Condal are reportedly heading up the new series, which is said to explore the history of the Targaryen family.
The trade points to the series building towards the infamous war known as The Dance of Dragons. That conflict took place around 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones when Rhaenyra Targaryen waged war against her half-brother Aegon for control of the Seven Kingdoms.
A pilot order is expected to be announced soon.
