After much speculation, Netflix has this afternoon revealed it has given the green light to a Stranger Things spin-off series, co-created by Kate Trefry and the Duffer Brothers and directed by Joe Wright. The streamer has released a teaser trailer confirming the series title, setting and release window.
Officially titled Other Worlds: A Stranger Things Adventure, the series will be set in Marion, Nevada. The teaser (below) also confirms the series will begin on April 19, 1955 with some kind of other-worldly incident. Other than those details, the teaser gives little away. It show a deserted bike by a restricted area sign at night, with distant lights of a nearby town and a very ominous disturbance in the sky resembling some kind of wormhole.

Other Worlds is set to premiere in 2028, three years after it was first revealed by the Duffer Brothers that work on a new series had begun. The creators of the original Stranger Things first conceived of the idea during the fourth season, promising it would feature “a wholly new story,” “new characters, themes and mythology”.
No casting has been announced for Other Worlds at the time of writing. Any connections to the main series are also yet to be revealed.
