Whilst most of us in the UK were tucked up in our beds Hall H at San Diego Comic Con was erupting to the sounds of a new Justice League trailer. Clocking in at over 4 minutes long this trailer gives us a HUGE amount of new footage from the film. We get our first (but unclear) look at Steppenwolf, mentions of Lanterns and Superman and footage of many more supporting cast members. With just a matter of hours until the Warner Bros. panel at SDCC we’ve got two new pieces of Justice League art to show off. Shared a little earlier today on Twitter the new poster and banner show off five of the six leads from the upcoming film. As with most of the art released for the film so far one key character is missing. Superman. Although his logo can clearly be seen in the films new tagline “you can’t save the world alone”. Whilst The Defenders were capturing headlines with their first trailer Netflix quietly announced some other good news for Marvel fans. After two successful seasons there was finally confirmation that Charlie Cox will return as Daredevil for a third season. More on the bubble was the Finn Jones vehicle Iron Fist. Whilst fan reaction was warm the reviews were not. The lukewarm reception led some to believe that his character would be sidelined to appearances in The Defenders series only. With the Warner Bros. Panel coming up at 11:30PT fans are prepared for some big reveals for the DC Films team. We know that the full Justice League cast are due to be in attendance and speculation is rife for a new trailer. Could we also see the first footage from Aquaman? Last night at SDCC saw the premier of Batman and Harley Quinn the latest DC Comics animated movie. Whilst reaction to the film has been somewhat mixed-to-positive there is some buzz around the next few films in the saga. FOX TV has completed its panel for new X-Men universe series The Gifted. As with most of the TV and film panels at Comic Con an extended trailer was shown and that trailer has now made its way online. Showing off more new footage from the series we get to see the Strucker family joining forces with Blink, Thunderbird and Polaris to escape the clutches of a shadowy, anti-mutant government agency. It wasn’t only The Defenders making their presence known at SDCC last night. Netflix also showed off the first footage from their hotly anticipated ‘The Punisher’ series. Spinning off from the second season of Daredevil the series stars Jon Bernthal in the lead role. Last night fans at San Diego Comic Con were treated to a screening of the first episode of ‘The Defenders’. Marvel and Netflix master plan to bring together Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist has been met with positive reaction. Screenrant is reporting that original series director Ivan Reitman touched on the subject of a new film during an SDCC panel. Interesting comics news from SDCC today as Batman writer Tom King met with select member of the press to discuss what’s next for The Dark Knight. The series is currently in the middle of “The War of Jokes and Riddles” flashback story. Prior to that we were left on a cliffhanger with Bruce’s proposal of marriage to Selina. That story will be picked up in Batman #33 due later this year. The issue will begin a new arc for Batman entitled “A Dream of Me” which will feature art by Joelle Jones.
