Director Matt Reeves is doing the rounds of press promoting War for the Planet of the Apes. It’s been another close weekend at the worldwide box office. Whilst Wonder Woman was never expected to retake the top spot questions had been raised over the performance of Transformers: The Last Knight. The fifth film in the Transformers franchise has met with more negativity in the press that previous entries and as all is said and done it has hurt the films performance. The rumour mill has been in overdrive for the last 24 hours following the unceremonious sacking of the Han Solo directors. Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s time in the directing chair came to an abrupt end this week following rumours of tensions on set. Various media reports have sighted the duo clashing with Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy as part of the problem. Wonder Woman is continuing its domination of box offices worldwide after crossing the $550m mark. After the final receipts had been counted the film fell only 29.5% in its third weekend at the North American box office. The Patty Jenkins directed film was able to take in another $41.3m after expectations set the bar at $30-35m. Great news for Star Trek fans today as CBS has confirmed the premiere date for its newest adventure.
