Netflix and Marvel have finally unveiled a first look at upcoming show ‘The Defenders’. The short clip features the first footage of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist together. Though the clip only runs to sixteen seconds it shows off a weary looking team and a mystery IP address. On Monday we broke the news of upcoming DC Comics/Warner Bros. animated film ‘Batman and Harley Quinn.’ The film will reunite the voice talents of Kevin Conroy and Loren Lester as Batman and Robin as they team up with Harley Quinn to take on a global catastrophe. DC Comics has announced its next animated feature film, ‘Batman and Harley Quinn’. Our first look at the film comes courtesy of Empire Magazine and its clear to see its inspiration. Bruce Timm returns to the style which made his name in the 90s as part of ‘Batman The Animated Series’. With the summer movie season only just around the corner it’s time for the June and July releases to start ramping up their marketing. Yesterday Universal released the second full length trailer for Tom Cruise’s next summer blockbuster ‘The Mummy’. This new look at the film runs to almost three minutes. Whilst expanding on some of the scenes from the first trailer there’s also plenty of new footage to whet the appetite of monster movie fans. Yesterday we went to visit ‘The Art of the Brick: DC Super Heroes’ exhibit on London’s South Bank. The fully LEGO exhibit opened on March 1st and runs to September 3rd 2017. It features the art of Nathan Sawaya put together using nearly 2,000,000 of the famous coloured bricks. Through a series of immersive galleries Sawaya will take you on a journey through the world of DC Comics using interpretations on characters, vehicles, environments and themes found throughout the DC Super Heroes mythology including transformation and reinvention, strength and weakness, as well as good vs. evil. It’s hard to believe that ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ first hit our TV screen 20 years ago. For seven year and over 100 episodes Buffy Summer and her Scooby Gang entertained fans of the supernatural around the globe. Despite ending in 2003 the show has continued to foster a rabid fanbase. Last night Warner Bros. made its annual presentation at the CinemaCon event. Fans had hoped this would include snippets from the DC Extended Universe and they were in for a treat. Members of the cast of ‘Justice League’ were in attendance along with director Zack Snyder. Patty Jenkins also appeared alongside ‘Wonder Woman’ star Chris Pine whilst director James Wan introduced an ‘Aquaman’ sizzle reel. Variety is reporting ‘Batgirl’ is coming to the big screen in a solo outing and she’s bringing Joss Whedon with her. In an exclusive story the outlet is reporting that Whedon, famed for ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and both ‘Avengers’ movies for Marvel, is in final talks to write, direct and produce the film. No other producers are currently attached to the as-yet-untitled film. Toby Emmerich, president and chief content officer of Warner Bros. WIth the pilot for ‘Black Lightning’ currently filming in Atlanta we’ve got our first official look at Cress Williams (‘Heart of Dixie’) in costume. Black Lightning was created back in 1977 and was the first African-America hero in the DC Comics universe to get his own standalone series.
