It gives us no surprise to report that Black Panther has flown past the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office. Following it’s $22.7m opening day in China the film took a full weekend gross of $66.5m. Overall, the film added an estimated $100m internationally pushing the overseas total to $516.6m for a global tally that now totals $1.078 billion.
In North America the film remains number one for a fourth week. The first Marvel Cinematic Universe to hold the number one spot for that length of time. Its fourth weekend gross totalled $41.1m for a domestic total of $562m.
This week Black Panther will need to stand up against Tomb Raider which stands as the only competition for the top spot.
