Following today’s announcement, Crunchyroll has officially acquired the streaming rights for the upcoming anime adaptation of Kagurabachi, the breakout manga hit by Takeru Hokazono.
The series is officially slated to premiere sometime in April 2027. Crunchyroll will stream the anime to fans worldwide, excluding Japan, Mainland China, North Korea, and South Korea.
Since its debut in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump, Kagurabachi has rapidly evolved into one of the magazine’s most talked-about modern titles. An earlier teaser trailer and key visual gave fans their first look at protagonist Chihiro Rokuhira and his enchanted blade, Enten.
Tetsuya Takeuchi is set to direct the series, featuring character designs by Keigo Sasaki. Animation production will be handled by Cypic, the studio behind this years haunting anime The Summer Hikaru Died.
The Japanese voice cast features a mix of rising talent and seasoned veterans including Taihi Kimura as Chihiro Rokuhira, Tomokazu Seki as Kunishige Rokuhira and Katsuyuki Konishi as Togo Shiba.
Alongside them, it was also revealed that Katsuyuki Konishi (Tengen Uzui in Demon Slayer) has joined the cast to voice Shiba. To celebrate the casting, the production team dropped a dedicated character visual and short trailer, giving fans an intimate look at one of Chihiro’s most critical allies.

Fans won’t have to wait entirely until April 2027 to see the manga come to life though as a global “World Tour” featuring early episode screenings has been locked in, aiming to bring Kagurabachi audiences ahead of the premiere.
The Kagurabachi Anime World Tour Part 1 is scheduled to hit several major global conventions, kicking off at Anime Expo.
Current dates include;
3rd July – Anime Expo – Los Angeles
9th July – Japan Expo Paris – Paris
