Sky has announced that Crystal Lake, a prequel to the hugely popular Friday the 13th franchise will be coming to Sky and streaming service NOW in the UK and Ireland in 2026. Produced by A24 and distributed by Peacock in the US, the series marks the first new project connected to the franchise since the reboot of the 2009 original film. Crystal Lake stars Linda Cardellini (Dead to Me, No Good Deed), who will play the iconic and familiar character from the franchise, Pamela Voorhees. Cardellini will be joined by William Catlett (A Thousand and One, Constellation), Devin Kessler (Godfather of Harlem), Cameron Scoggins (Shades of Blue, Nashville) and Gwendolyn Sundstrom.

Katie Keenan, Group Director of Acquisitions for Sky UK and Europe, said: “We are so excited to bring Crystal Lake, the back storyline to the iconic Friday 13th franchise. Snapping up this show demonstrates our commitment to bringing our customers the best US drama series from one of the hottest US studios. We are thrilled to be in partnership with A24 and Peacock on this project.”

Callum Vinson (Chucky, Long Bright River), Nick Cordileone (Warrior), Joy Suprano (Fleishman is in Trouble, Best Foot Forward), Danielle Kotch (Director’s Cut) and Phoenix Parnevik (Bel-Air, Don’t Tell Mom) have joined as recurring guest stars.

Michael Lennox (101-103) (Say Nothing, Derry Girls), directing duo Celine Held and Logan George (104-106) (Topside, Caddo Lake), and Quyen Tran (107-108) (Sirens, The Pitt) will direct multiple episodes. Lennox will also serve as executive producer.

Crystal Lake, a A24 and Peacock series, was created by showrunner, writer, and executive producer Brad Caleb Kane (It: Welcome to Derry), who joins A24 and original ‘Friday the 13th’ writer Victor Miller and Horror, Inc. in bringing the Jason Universe story to the screen. Further Executive Producers are A24, Marc Toberoff, Victor Miller, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian, Stuart Manashil, Tyson Bidner, Michael Lennox. The deal with A24 was negotiated by Katie Keenan, Group Director of Acquisitions for Sky UK and Europe, and Facundo Bailez, Head of Acquisitions.

The series will air on Sky and NOW in the UK and Ireland, and will also air on Peacock in the US, in 2026.
