The Horimiya manga and anime may be over, but we have been blessed with a “second season”. We say “second season” because it’s not actually a second season. Horimiya: The MIssing Pieces will cover elements of the story that were previously skipped. The first season was able to perfectly cover the entire story of Horimiya, but there were a few moments that were left out in order to squeeze Hori and Miyamura’s romance into a single season. It happens all the time, but it’s not very often that shows get the opportunity to go back.
In particular, this new season will cover the Kyoto field trip, the Sports festival, as well as additional side stories from manga which was written by HERO and Daisuke Hagiwara . Instead of considering it a “second season” look at it as an expansion. The Missing Pieces will fill gaps and explore certain relationships in depth. For fans of Horimiya, this will be an absolute must since you’ll learn more about the characters and where they are before the season finale.
We’ll take more Horimiya, and here’s the best thing… We won’t have to wait long. Crunchyroll has announced that Horimiya: The Missing Pieces will launch on July 1st as part of their Summer 2023 schedule.
The brand new trailer also provides us with a brief preview of the anime’s ending and opening theme songs. The opening theme will be “Shiawase” by Omoinotake, and the ending will be Ami Sakaguchi’s “URL”.

A secret life is the one thing they have in common. At school, Hori is a prim and perfect social butterfly, but the truth is she’s a brash homebody. Meanwhile, under a gloomy facade, Miyamura hides a gentle heart, along with piercings and tattoos. In a chance meeting, they both reveal a side they’ve never shown. Could this blossom into something new?
