We had a feeling this one was coming. Just last week Sony Pictures delayed the release of Jared Leto’s Morbius from March to October 8, 2021. Does that October date sound familiar? Well that’s now the same date to which Universal Pictures has moved No Time To Die.
No major studio looking to launch a new property like Morbius is going to head-to-head with James Bond. With no option to stay in October, Sony has taken the difficult decision of moving the film once again. Morbius will now release on January 21, 2022.
Sony’s remaining Spider-Man properties: Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man 3 remain in their respective June and December release dates. For now.
Directed by Daniel Espinosa, Morbius stars Jared Leto as the titular character, Matt Smith as Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft, Tyrese Gibson as Agent Stroud and Jared Harris
