New behind-the-scenes photo from VENOM 2 shows on Eddie Brock

Over the weekend work has continued on Sony Pictures upcoming Venom 2. The film has reportedly wrapped filming in the UK and has headed to San Francisco for further location shoots around Eddie Brock’s adoptive home town.

Now photographer Greg Williams has shared this awesome new shot of Hardy as Eddie Brock from the set. The moody, black and white shot shows what appears to be a stormy night in San Francisco. For now that’s all we know as the film’s story remains shrouded in secrecy.

Andy Serkis directs Venom 2 which stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom, with Michelle Williams returning as Anne Weying. The Film opens in cinemas on October 2, 2020.

Set video from VENOM 2 shows Woody Harrelson in action

Yesterday we brought you a first look at Woody Harrelson on the set of Venom 2 courtesy of lead actor Tom Hardy. Now we’ve got a look at Harrelson in action thanks to a sneaky set video.

The video, which first surfaced on Twitter, shows a stand-off between Cletus Kasady (Harrelson) and the police. Things get a little weird when Harrelson starts pulling some crazy moves, which we can only imagine means that when the film hits screens there’ll be some added visual effects going on!

Morbius (Sony Pictures)

Jared Leto confirms MORBIUS reshoots

Jared Leto has confirmed that reshoots for the upcoming spin off, Morbius, have started. After apparent ‘leaks’ online, this could be an effort on Sony’s behalf to change certain details. If you are excited for the film, like I am, I would advice against hunting the leaks down. Rest-assured, we won’t be discussing the apparent leaks here.

Leto confirmed the news via his Instagram account where he also revealed himself preparing for the role. In his Instagram post, Leto can be seen reading Marvel’s Legion of Monsters. This comic book series was published in 2011 and features Morbius, Werewolf by Night, Living Mummy and Manphibian. Could this be a potential tease for what is to come?

In the upcoming film, Michael Morbius has a rare blood disease. After attempting to cure himself, Michael begins to exhibit supernatural abilities. Eventually he transforms into Morbius, The Living Vampire. A creature with superhuman strength, speed, durability and sonar-related powers.

Directed by Daniel Espinosa, Morbius stars Jared Leto as the titular character, Matt Smith as Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft, Tyrese Gibson as Agent Stroud and Jared Harris

Interestingly, the first trailer revealed how this movie could lead to a crossover between Sony’s franchise and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the trailer revealed a poster featuring Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man, the trailer also revealed a familiar face.

Michael Keaton’s Vulture, the antagonist from Spider-Man: Homecoming made a surprising appearance at the end of the trailer. Could this be the catalyst that sees the arrival of the Sinister Six? Only time will tell.

Despite the reshoots, Morbius is due to release July 31, 2020. You can check out the awesome trailer for Morbius below:

Spider-Woman (Marvel Comics)

Sony’s SPIDER-VERSE set to grow further with rumours of SPIDER-WOMAN movie

In recent years Sony Pictures has found a new wave of creative energy in its burgeoning Spider-verse slate of films. Though these spin-off films haven’t been officially labelled so by the studio, we’re seeing small links between films creeping in over time.

MCU Cosmic is reporting that the studio is looking to bring Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman, to the big screen. It is also said that Madame Web, Black Cat, Silver Sable, and Jackpot are all still priorities for the studio to develop properties for.

Interestingly, the site is also reporting that Drew is co-owned by bother Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures. It is reported that the former may use the character in her secret agent capacity whilst the latter will look to bring Spider-Woman to audiences worldwide.

These rumours sprang up after Sony confirmed it would be releasing another Spider-Man related picture in 2021.

Director Andy Serkis discusses VENOM 2 production

Over the weekend Venom 2 director Andy Serkis was awarded the Outstanding Contribution award at the star studded BAFTA ceremony in London.

The actor/director is currently pulling a potential double duty as he directs the Venom sequel for Sony Pictures and stars as Alfred Pennyworth in Warner Bros. The Batman which is currently in production in London.

Serkis spoke briefly about the Venom 2 shoot with DigitalSpy, as expected he can’t say too much but it sounds like things are going well.

“Well, you know, I really can’t talk too much about it – I know, boring – but we’re 40 days into the shoot and it’s really thrilling,” he said. “We’ve got the magnificent Tom Hardy, who’s obviously at the centre of it,” he continued, “and we sort of see a deepening of the relationship between him and obviously there’s a nemesis character and… that’s all I can say.”

Morbius (Sony Pictures)

Jared Leto talks MORBIUS in new interview

Unless you’ve been living in a cave full of bats then you’ve surely seen the first trailer for Morbius which arrived on Monday. Now, lead actor Jared Leto has been discussing the role with IGN.

“Morbius, the man, is a pretty complex character,” he says. “That’s what I was really attracted to.”

“This is somebody who has a lot of conflict in his life. He’s a guy who’s born with this horrible disease and is really a gifted person. When he was young, he was very curious about science and medicine and decided to dedicate his life to find a cure for the disease that he’s afflicted with and that others like him have, as well. But along the way, all hell breaks loose.”

Later in the interview Leto discusses the condition that Michael has been battling his whole life and how his new found powers help him to feel truly alive for the first time.

“Inside of Morbius, there’s a person who has a moral code. There’s a good person. Ultimately it’s that common struggle between good and evil. And, I guess, we’ll see what ultimately prevails. That’s what I like a lot about this movie. We’re not walking such a clear path. There’s not a clear line between what’s right and what’s wrong. There’s some gray area there. And Morbius is an imperfect person.”

“He’s not your grandfather’s superhero,” the actor continues. “He’s a deeply complex character and imperfect. And I really loved that aspect that here we’re taking someone who is like all of us, has a fair amount of challenges and issues.”

Watch the first trailer for Morbius below.

Jared Leto takes the lead in the latest of Sony’s Spider-Man spin-offs. The movie is due to release July 31, 2020.
