Robin #14 is published by DC Comics, written by Joshua Williamson and illustrated by Roger Cruz.

Issue #14 is available 24th May 2022 either directly from DC Comics online or from your local comic book store, digital copies will be available to download from the usual content providers.

    Synopsis

FIGHT! Batman Inc. versus the League of Shadows versus the Secret Society! Deathstroke versus Talia…and only one will walk away from the fight alive! Robin knows the truth behind Ra’s al Ghul’s death and races to stop the Shadow War!

    Review

In this issue we see the League of Shadows take on the Secret Society in a battle to the death. Deathstroke has one thing on his mind, vengeance, taking him straight on the hunt for Talia. Batman and Robin must take charge of Batman Inc. to lead a last minute charge to get to Talia before Deathstroke does, but are they too late? The battle between Deathstroke and Talia comes to an emotional head when the two finally meet with a surprising finally.

Spoiler alert: the imposter Deaathstroke is finally unmasked and you’re never going to see it coming. The moment provides a superb cliffhanger to Robin #14 and may have brought The Shadow War to an end. But the battle is just beginning with this unexpected new foe entering the mix, this definitely isn’t the end of the story itself.

Once again Joshua Williamson has effortlessly blown me away with his superb writing style, each page is crammed with heart racing action fueled with raw emotion and rage, the Shadow War has been an arc that has excited me from the start each issue making it better and better, I have always been a big fan of DC but this has taken that love to the next level.

Roger Cruz is at the helm for the illustrations of this issue perfectly capturing each blow from the epic battle giving the reader a more immersive experience creating something more than reading just a comic. Overall an excellent Jon from all the creative team.

    Verdict

A fully deserved full marks score, if a comic could be perfect then this would be close to that mark, it gave me everything I wanted and more each character growing in depth with strength and emotional identity, a creative masterpiece.
