    Synopsis

Are the horrors of Avery’s past to blame for his unique condition or is there something more sinister at work? Avery’s symptoms continue to worsen as he races against his pursuers to reach Dr. Carlisle and confront him about what could possibly be happening to him. But a shocking turn of events prompts Avery’s condition to manifest and intensify with deadly consequences, which will threaten everything Avery holds dear.

    Review

In this issue of Dark Blood we see Avery ramp us his search for the truth as his condition worsens the need for answers becomes a necessity. The book takes us back and forth in various flashbacks as we find out what is happening to Avery and the reasons he is a unique being, all that Avery holds dear to him is at risk as the powers begin to intensify Dr Carlisle holds the answers – or does he? Or is there something else, or even someone else responsible? Avery needs to find out and fast.

In what has become a series that I am getting deeper into and with it being a bit deeper than I normally would go for Dark Blood has sucked me in with it’s intense edge of seat storyline expertly written by Latoya Morgan, each issue gets more intense as the arc grows in strength as it moves along. Although as I said before it’s a bit different than I would normally get into I am glad that have been introduced to Latoya’s work as I can rapidly becoming a fan.

Top drawer illustrations from Moisés Hidalgo brings more intensity to the comic with dramatic illustrations and dark tones bringing more depth to the story and really taking you deep inside the life of Avery.

    Verdict

A deep and dark story that is getting more and more intense as the issues pass, as this issue is left on a bit of a cliffhanger I can’t wait to see what the creative team have instore for the next issue, if you like your comics dark then look no further Dark Blood will definitely be for you.
