With her popularity riding high it looks like Harley Quinn might make the jump back to TV land.
Producers of the hit FOX series are currently on a press tour with members of the cast promoting the upcoming third season. When asked about the popularity of certain Batman villains who also appear in ‘Suicide Squad’ Executive Producer John Stevens had this to say.
“A lot of those characters, because they’re in Suicide Squad, we’re not going to be seeing them this season. We will be seeing proto-versions of some of those characters; we’ll see a proto-Killer Croc version. And we’ll be seeing a character — perhaps not this season, but in times to come — who can be a forerunner for Harley Quinn.”
The show famously introduced the character Jerome in season 1 who has gone to begin the legend of Joker. Although there character was killed in season 2 producers say his presence will still be felt throughout the show.
Further elaborating on plans EP Ken Woodruff said “The Indian Hill that exists in Gotham, that’s the bridge to these villains like killer Croc and Solomon Grundy,”.
Before ending their talk with the press the producers touched on future appearances by Jada Pinkett Smith/Fish Mooney. Current plans are for the opinion dividing character to appear in the first two episodes, followed by the back half of season 3.
Season 3 of ‘Gotham’ premieres Monday, Sept. 19 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The shows airs in the UK on Chanel 5.
