Set your alarms Bat-fans, Prime Video has confirmed that the second season of Batman: Caped Crusader will debut globally on July 31, 2026. Almost two years to the day after season 1, all 10 episodes of the second season will be available to stream.
The news was announced exclusively by IGN overnight alongside the release of a bunch of stills from season 2 teasing new villains, new stories and… Carrie Kelly?! Fans will remember that season 1, which beautifully reimagined the Dark Knight’s story as a gritty noir, ended with a tease that The Joker was about to arrive in Gotham. It certainly seems from the new stills that will form part of the story for season 2.
The new stills also reveal a gender-swapped version of Mad Hatter which follows on from Minnie Driver’s similarly altered version of The Penguin who appeared in season 1. Other villains revealed for season 2 include Riddler, Scarecrow and someone looking suspiciously like Firefly. Given Barbara Gordon’s fascination with Batman could a Batgirl origin story be on the horizon?
Take a look at each of the new season 2 stills below:
Returning alongside Linklater in season 2 are Jamie Chung as Harley Quinn/Harleen Quinzel, Jason Watkins as Alfred Pennyworth, Eric Morgan Stuart as Commissioner Jim Gordon, Krystal Joy Brown as Barbara Gordon, Michelle C. Bonilla as Renee Montoya, and Bumper Robinson as Lucius Fox.
Executive producers J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves and Bruce Timm are back for Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2. Along with Abrams, Reeves and Timm, Batman: Caped Crusader executive producers include James Tucker, Geoffrey Thorne, Sarah Geismer, Rachel Rusch Rich, and Sam Register.
