There were plenty of new films which made their debut at the worldwide box office this weekend. Whilst Joker and Maleficent were battling it out for the top spot another film was making a serious dent in the box office in third place. Sony Pictures Zombieland: Double Tap (reviewed here) opened with an impressive $26.7m across the three-day weekend. After two weeks reigning at the top of the worldwide box office, Joker has been dethroned by Disney’s latest release, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.
