After a number of directorial changes things are finally starting to come together at Sony Pictures for their adaption of Uncharted.
Variety is reporting that Sony has signed up the Academy Award nominated Mark Wahlberg (The Departed) to join the cast in the rule of Victor “Sully” Sullivan.
Sullivan is an American treasure hunter and businessman who, as well as a friend, is a mentor and father figure to lead character Nathan Drake. Drake will be played in the film by Spider-Man: Far From Home star Tom Holland.
Travis Knight (Bumblebee) is directing the film from a screenplay from Rafe Judkins (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and writersf Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Men in Black: International).
The film is due in cinemas December 18, 2020.
