After the success and mass acclaim of the Batman: Arkham series so far fans have been desperate for news of any new games. The series began back in 2009 with Arkham Asylum and was following by Arkham City in 2011, Arkham Origins in 2013 and finally Arkham Knight 2015. Great news for fans of Wonder Woman today, Patty Jenkins has signed on to direct a sequel! Variety exclusively broke the story earlier tonight that Jenkins has closed a deal with Warner Bros. to return. With over $800m in the bank at the worldwide box office Jenkins has reportedly been offered a contract in the $8m range to write and direct the sequel. Wonder Woman remains in cinemas across the globe and recently crossed the $409m mark at the North American box office. Well Marvel’s Inhumans finally made it’s bow at the box office. After a slew of negative reviews and a serious lack of buzz the film was able to garner enough attention to make $1.5m at the North American box office. Heading in to the weekend box office predictions put the 75 minute presentation at a possible $2m. But with the review embargo lifting so late and an inevitable barrage of bad press brought that number down. We’ve known since the packing previews for Batman and Harley Quinn were released that the next DC Comics animated film would be an adaptation of Gotham by Gaslight. The Brian Augustyn and Mike Mignola comic was originally released back in 1989 (a good year for Bat-fans) and spawn a 1991 sequel Master of the Future. Whilst the cameras are still rolling on the Han Solo film it appears that the next stage in the Star Wars saga has been unveiled. Rumours from The Hollywood Reporter claim that Billy Elliot director Stephen Daldry is in talks with Disney/Lucasfilm to helm the film. Well today Omega Underground has revealed the films working title as Joshua Tree. The site believes this is in reference to Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California.
