For all the talk about course corrections and narrative edits to this day we don’t really know how Darkseid was to be included in Justice League. Now in an article posted by Screen Rant we’ve got a look at some storyboard art, drawn by Zack Snyder, which gives an insight in to what could have been. It appears that this would be a continuation of the ‘Knightmare’ scene from Batman v Superman. Put this one firmly in your rumour mill pile. THR are reporting that Captain Marvel scribes Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet are taking a swipe at Sony Pictures Silver and Black. The Spider-Man universe film which is set to be directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood (The Secret Life of Bees) has been in development for some time now. Back in December we brought you first looks at the upcoming Batman Ninja animated movie. Those early looks at the film featuring only the native Japanese language audio tracks. Now Warner Bros. has formally announced the films released and re-released that trailer with the English language audio track. The film will be released digitally in North America on April 24, with physical blu-ray and DVD sales hitting retailer shelves on May 8. European dates are yet to be confirmed. March is getting closer and closer and with it so is the release of Ready Player One. The hotly anticipated film is really starting to generate buzz amongst cinema goers. Capitalising on the buzz Warner Bros. has released two new pieces of artwork to promote the film. Rumours last month pointed to 20th Century Fox developing a solo X-Men project for Kitty Pryde. The character portrayed by Ellen Page in two previous movies seems destined to head for the big screen in the next few years. A new rumour overnight from Deadline points to ex-Marvel writer Brian Michael Bendis working with Fox on the project. Also previously rumoured and now seemingly confirmed is the news that Deadpool director Tim Miller is signed on for the film. The Hollywood Reporter has since confirmed the duo are actively developing the project but no news on a planned release schedule as yet.

Interesting news this morning from The Hollywood Reporter regarding the potential opening weekend for Black Panther. Around a month ago predictions put the film at making $120-$125M across the opening weekend. That’s a huge figure for a first outing for a solo Marvel character. Now the tracking information has jumped and estimates put the film at $165M for Presidents Day weekend. That could easily put the film in the top 10 openings for a superhero movie, a chart dominated by Marvel. Last week Warner Bros. released a look at the deleted Superman scenes from Justice League to tease the films home video release. With the digital release now available on iTunes in North America the studio has released a second look at the film. It’s no secret that the production of Solo: A Star Wars Story has been difficult. The now infamous firing of original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller sent shockwaves through fandom.
