It’s fair to say that Zack Snyder’s time at DC Films was highly divisive. Whilst many enjoyed the interpretations of the characters the films themselves did not connect with the moviegoing public. More news has surfaced on the Birds of Prey movie following the announcement that Cathy Yan is frontrunner to direct. Once again it is journalist Justin Kroll who has been doing some digging and has been unable to unearth the info. It appears that the studio is currently running with two versions of the script. Whilst is is unclear if both these scripts are by Christina Hodson there are two constants. Actor Joe Manganiello has been discussing his role as Deathstroke in DC Films. Yesterday saw the release of the final trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Now overnight the studio has released what has been dubbed as the ‘final’ one-sheet for the movie. An announcement we didn’t see coming… Warner Bros. has officially announced that superstar director Steven Spielberg is headed to the world of DC Comics. Spielberg will be working on an adaption of Blackhawk. For those not in the know Blackhawk is the leader of Blackhawk Squadron, an elite team of World War II-era pilots. The series was created by Chuck Cuidera, Bob Powell and Will Eisner, the team debuted in Quality Comics’ Military Comics #1 in 1941. DC Comics gained ownership of the property in 1956. When Arrow returns for its seventh season later this years things are going to be a little different. Deadline is reporting that as season six draws to a close but showrunners will be stepping down. The trade reports that co-executive producer Beth Schwartz will be taking over the role. Wendy Mericle will exit the series completely. She has been with the show following the pilot and became co-showrunner from season 4.
