Is Supergirl heading back to the big screen?

Deadline has broken some exciting news for DC Films fans: it appears that Supergirl is headed back to the big screen!

Last seen in cinemas played by Helen Slater in 1984. That film did not prove to be the success that Warner Bros. was hoping for. Instead the character has found huge success on The CW in the TV series of the same name played by Melissa Benoist.

Very little is known about the film at this stage. It is said that Cloverfield Paradox scribe Oren Uziel is currently penning the script.

With Birds of Prey entering production next year, several other Harley Quinn projects in development and a Batgirl movie on the way are DC Film prioritising the companies female characters?
