This week Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse finally opened in China. The Sony Pictures animation topped the box office with a conservative $26.1M taking its international total to $64.8M. In its second weekend frame the movie dropped around 53%, taking an estimated $16.7M. It’s domestic total currently sits at around $64M. This weekend didn’t just see the North American launch of Aquaman. Paramount Pictures also dropped the latest and best received entry in to the Transformers franchise, Bumblebee. Aquaman is finally in cinemas across the globe. Around 70 territories reported huge box office takings for the latest DC Comics movie across the weekend. All eyes were, of course, on its North American opening which had estimates ranging from $60M all the way up to $80M. Following the $4M in Amazon previews taken last weekend the movie has opened with an estimated $9M in Thursday night previews. That puts its domestic gross around $13-14M mark going in to the weekend.
