Film continues across Europe on Sony/Marvel co-production Spider-Man: Far From Home. Very little is known about the sequel to 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming but the latest set photos seem to point towards the wall crawler picking up some new threads. As you can see from this short video star Tom Holland appears to be decked out in a simple, black version of the spider suit. It doesn’t appear to be the symbiote suit so could it be something akin to dark version seen in the Spider-verse event? This week New York Comic Con descends on the city bringing with it host of exclusives and first looks. With Daredevil set to drop its third season on Netflix in the next month it was only natural that Marvel would be repping its first successful foray in to streaming TV. Back in June CBS announced that is was working on a fleet of new Star Trek properties. One those was the development of several short films around characters from the Star Trek: Discovery universe. The first of those short, “Runaway,” will make its debut on CBS All Access on October 4. “Runaway” stars Mary Wiseman as Tilly in a scene which appear to pit her against a mysterious new arrival on the Discovery. Over the weekend 20th Century Fox has juggled the release dates for its remaining slate of X-Men movies. Whilst we understand that other movies are still in development these changes directly impact some of the companies biggest upcoming releases. First up: Dark Phoenix is moving from February 14, 2019 to June 7. Deadline reports that this decision was strategic to gain Dark Phoenix a much larger opening in China. The first trailer has racked up over 44 million views within the first 24 hours of release in the market. MCM Comic Con London has just added another guest. Avengers: Infinity War and Solo: A Star Wars Story actor Paul Bettany will be appearing on both Saturday and Sunday. The actor will appear in the autograph area and will be available for photo ops. We heard earlier in the week that Gambit is targeting an early 2019 production start. That tallies with rumours that the film is aiming for a 2020 released. Following last nights announcement that Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Jurnee Smollett-Bell have joined the cast of Birds of Prey talk has turned to who will play the movies villain. This morning we’re hearing rumours that Sam Rockwell has passed on the role. A role being tipped as a Gotham crime lord and which we are hearing is none other than Black Mask. The newly rebooted Hellboy is on the move. The movie was originally due for release in January 2019 but will now premiere three months later, in April. Next month Hellboy will finally be unveiled at a special panel being held at this years New York Comic Con. It’s expected that the panel will feature the first look at footage from the movie. The movie will now arrive in cinemas on April 12, 2019. That puts it squarely in the sights of DC Film Shazam! which arrives one week earlier.
