After a hard weekends work at the Chinese box office Aquaman has proven to be a huge success. Official estimates have the DC Films/Warner Bros. release earning an immense $93.6M over the three day weekend. That number is the highest opening for a modern DC movie in China. That surpasses the openings of Justice League ($50.5M), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($55.7M), and Wonder Woman ($37.6M). In terms of the latter Aquaman has surpassed the lifetime gross of Wonder Woman ($93M) in just three days. Aquaman himself Jason Momoa appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon this week and brought with him a new clip from the movie. This latest slice of the action features Arthur and Mera battling the Trench. The final episode of Doctor Who season 11 airs tomorrow. With a special episode set for New Year’s Day that currently marks the end of Jodie Whittaker’s time as The Doctor. Aquaman is continuing to make waves at the Chinese box office. Following the news that the movie had made $1.19M in Thursday previews it has gone on to break several box office records. On Friday the latest DC Films release went on to gross $24.6M. That number makes it the highest opening day of all time at the Chinese box office. Ralph Breaks the Internet continues to do well at the box office. The Disney sequel has now grossed over $211M worldwide proving the character has some serious box office staying power. With DCTV crossover Elseworlds set to debut on Sunday the world will finally be introduced to Ruby Rose as Batwoman. The CW and Warner Bros. TV have been clear in their intentions to spin the character off in to her own series. After an initial casting backlash (when isn’t there a backlash?) the character has been well received from images and trailers for the crossover.
