On Monday, it was announced that Disney have moved forward with a brand new Tron movie. Making this new installment the third movie in the franchise. The sequel is being helmed by Lion director Garth Davis, and is being written by Jesse Wigutow. Jared Leto also took to Social Media to announce his involvement. The creators of the hit animated show Avatar: The Last Airbender have left the planned live-action adaptation at Netflix. Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko announced their departure on Instagram today. The live-action adaptation was announced back in September 2018.
