Ewan McGregor has revealed some interesting information regarding his return as the iconic Obi-Wan Kenobi. While talking about his new series, Long Way Up, with Entertainment Tonight the conversation momentarily turned towards Star Wars.
According to McGregor, who will return as the exiled Jedi, the series is set to start production in Spring 2021. He also added that he is incredibly excited to return. Considering that he has been keeping his return a secret for over four years, it’s great that he is finally able to discuss it. However… there isn’t much to discuss at the moment.
The biggest thing to take away from McGregor’s interview is that this Obi-Wan Kenobi centered series will be a standalone series. While the number of episodes is currently a mystery, it looks as though we will only be getting one season.
“As I understand, it’s a standalone season,” he said. “We’ll see. Who knows?”
He kept a secret for four years and is now, like a Sith Lord, a Master of deception… maybe Disney has something planned for the future.
Moving away from Star Wars you can check out more about McGregor’s upcoming series in the trailer below.
McGregor and Charley Boorman take to the road on a journey travelling from the southernmost tip of Argentina up through South and Central America and ending in Los Angeles. Long Way Up premieres its first three episodes on September 18th on Apple TV+, with new episodes airing weekly.
