STAR WARS: THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU Makes a Galactic Number One Debut on The Official Film Chart

Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu makes a blockbuster entrance on the Official Film Chart this week, debuting straight in at Number 1.

The latest chapter from a galaxy far, far away sees Din Djarin and Grogu reunite for a new Star Wars adventure, as the Mandalorian bounty hunter and his young apprentice are pulled into a mission involving the remaining Imperial warlords wanted by the New Republic. Bringing one of Disney+’s most beloved Star Wars pairings to a larger cinematic scale, the film lands ahead of last week’s chart-topper The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which slips to Number 2.

Mario’s latest big-screen outing continues its strong home entertainment run, having returned to Number 1 last week after previously spending two weeks at the summit back in June. Packed with colour, humour and Nintendo nostalgia, the animated family adventure remains a major force on this week’s chart.

There is another new entry at Number 3 for Disclosure Day, which gives the Top 3 a second new entry. The original sci-fi event film explores a world-changing revelation around humanity’s place in the universe, pairing blockbuster spectacle with an ensemble cast including Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson and Colman Domingo.

Mortal Kombat 2 (2026) jumps four places to Number 4, giving action fans another strong showing near the top of the chart. The fantasy fighting sequel continues the battle for Earthrealm, bringing together brutal tournament combat, fan-favourite warriors and high-stakes mythology.

After its recent run in the upper end of the chart, Obsession drops two places to Number 5. The supernatural horror centres on desire, fixation and the darker side of longing, as a young man’s wish for the love of his childhood best friend spirals into something far more dangerous.

A major catalogue climb comes from Troy, which rises 18 places to Number 6. The historical epic revisits the legendary Trojan War, with Brad Pitt starring as Achilles in a sweeping story of love, loyalty, pride and conflict.

Last week’s highest new entry, Backrooms, falls five places to Number 7. The sci-fi horror taps into the internet-born nightmare of endless liminal spaces, following its characters into a strange and unsettling world where familiar environments become distorted, empty and deeply unnerving.

Michael drops three places to Number 8, but the Michael Jackson biopic continues its impressive home entertainment run. The film traces the life, legacy and musical impact of one of pop’s most influential entertainers, from early stardom to global superstardom.

Former Number 1 The Devil Wears Prada 2 also slides five places to Number 9. The fashion-world sequel returns to the sharp, high-pressure world of Runway magazine, bringing ambition, reinvention and industry drama back to one of cinema’s most recognisable style universes.

Finally, The Furious rounds out the Top 10, dropping one place to Number 10. The martial arts thriller keeps high-octane action in the mix this week, delivering fast-paced fight sequences and a revenge-driven story set against a dangerous criminal underworld.
