After making the tough decision to shift the film’s release once more, Sony Pictures has today dropped a brand new poster for director Daniel Espinosa’s Morbius. The new poster (below) gives us a new look at the film’s main cast as well a confirming plans for an April 1, 2022 release date.
The latest synopsis for the film gives us a few more details on what Michael Morbius (Jared Leto) will be up to in this version of the Spider-verse:
One of the most compelling and conflicted characters in Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil – or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?
Directed by Daniel Espinosa, Morbius stars Jared Leto as the titular character, Matt Smith as Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft, Tyrese Gibson as Agent Stroud and Jared Harris. Morbius releases exclusively in cinemas on April 1, 2022.
