Great news from the world of Game of Thrones. The prequel series House of the Dragon has officially started production with the cast currently undergoing a socially distanced table read. Based on Martin’s Fire & Blood, the series, which is set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones, tells the story of House Targaryen.
The official Twitter account for House of the Dragon shared images of the cast taking part in the table read:
- Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower
- Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower
- Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen
- Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen
- Steve Toussaint as The Sea Snake (Lord Corlys Velaryon)
- Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen

House of the Dragon is just one of the many spin offs HBO has planned. Just last month, it was rumored that HBO were looking to extend their realm of Ice and Fire with three additional shows: Sea Snake, Flea Bottom, and 10,000 Ships.
