Just when the news couldn’t get much bigger or exciting. HBO’s The Last of Us has found its Ellie. In the critically acclaimed games, Ellie is a young girl who actually holds the key to humanity’s survival. Joel, who will be played by Pedro Pascal, is tasked with extracting and delivering the girl to the Fireflies.
So who is set to play Ellie? Well, it’s none other than Game of Thrones‘s Lyanna Mormont played by the wonderful and tough Bella Ramsey. Ramsey rose to fame after her fierce appearance in Game of Thrones. After that, she appeared in His Dark Materials as Angelica and in Netflix’s animated series Hilda.
She may have fought at the Battle of Winterfell and defeated a giant, but it seems as though The Last of Us may be one of Ramsey’s toughest challenges yet. The White Walkers may have been bad, but they are nothing compared to the harsh reality that awaits Ramsey in The Last of Us.
We can’t wait to see what both Pascal and Ramsey do with their roles. What do you make of this casting? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated as this series develops. In the meantime, you can check out more gaming news, here.
Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann are set to produce The Last of Us series along with Carolyn Strauss (Chernobyl, Game of Thrones), Naughty Dogâs Evan Wells and PlayStation Productionsâ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan.
