The Square Enix title Marvel’s Avengers which has been plagued with bugs and issues from launch has had more bad news, the much anticipated (especially myself) next gen release has been postponed to at least next year, the reason for this is said that it is giving the team the opportunity to deliver the best next gen experience and giving you the game that it’s meant to be.
An excerpt of the report below the developers have addressed the issues and have put systems in place to fix issues:
“Marvel’s Avengers’ launch was not without turbulence, and we recognize that a number of issues detracted from your enjoyment of the game. This does not align with Crystal Dynamics’ value of craftsmanship, and for that we sincerely apologize.”
“Over the past weeks, our team around the world has been heads down fixing bugs and tuning key gameplay systems guided in part by your feedback. Since launch, we’ve released rapid updates to address these bugs, improve game stability, and refine our matchmaking system. While our work is never done, these fixes and additions have made improvements to the overall player experience”
Over the past few weeks the development team have been hard at work behind the scenes to fix bugs and smooth out other issues, as a way of an apology and to show the community their appreciation Square Enix will be releasing some in game packages:

“As a sign of our appreciation for being with us from the start of this journey – beginning at 10:00 AM PDT October 22, players will receive a digital thank-you bundle, which includes:
- Credits: 1500 – Enough for a Legendary Skin and Nameplate from the Marketplace
- Units: 7000
- Upgrade Modules: 250
- DNA Keys: 20
- A Sarah Garza-Inspired Nameplate (Because seriously, you’re the best.)
This bundle will be available until 10:00 AM PDT on November 5”
Better than a slap in the face with a wet kipper I’m sure you will agree.
As a keen gamer it is always frustrating to hear a game you are waiting to see delayed but it’s more frustrating for me to see a game rushed out and not half the game it should’ve been so I’ll be happy to wait to see a better next gen Marvel’s Avengers game.

The future of the game looks exciting with the addition of more content including the upcoming dlc Kate Bishops Operations, which has also been delayed from the original October release, Kate’s new Operation will be a must-play for fans wanting to know what’s next in the story! In Marvel’s Avengers: Kate Bishop — Taking AIM, Tachyon Rifts become a harbinger of a new threat. As players investigate the source of them, they will pick up on a story that begins shortly after the conclusion of the Reassemble campaign. Then comes Clint (we’ll have more information on him later) and looking into 2021, our biggest Avengers Initiative addition yet will introduce a new Hero, region, and narrative arc.
Next is the upcoming War Table announcement in November where Square Enix will unveil new Heroes and Villains into the roster.
Marvel’s Avengers is available on current gen platforms now and Series X/S PS5 next year.
